GCE O Level Grading System

• A1 (1 point): 75-100% - Distinction
• A2 (2 points): 70-74% - Distinction
• B3 (3 points): 65-69% - Credit
• B4 (4 points): 60-64% - Credit
• C5 (5 points): 55-59% - Credit
• C6 (6 points): 50-54% - Credit
• D7 (7 points): 45-49% - Pass
• E8 (8 points): 40-44% - Pass
• F9 (9 points): Below 40% - Fail

L1R5 Calculation

• L1: Best grade in English or Higher Mother Tongue
• R5: Best 5 grades from relevant subjects
• Total Points: Sum of L1 + R5 (lower is better)
• Bonus Points: Deducted from total (CCA, Higher MT)
• Maximum Bonus: 4 points deduction

L1R4 Calculation (Polytechnic)

• L1: English Language grade
• R4: Best 4 grades from relevant subjects

Junior College Admission

• Top JCs (6-8 points): Raffles, Hwa Chong, Nanyang
