Singapore University Grading Systems

Different institutions in Singapore use various grading scales. This calculator supports the major universities and polytechnics.

Grade Point Scales

• NUS/NTU: 5.0 scale (A+ = 5.0, A = 5.0, A- = 4.5, B+ = 4.0, etc.)
• SMU: 4.0 scale (A+ = 4.0, A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.)
• SIT/SUTD: 4.0 scale similar to SMU
• Polytechnics: 4.0 scale with different grade boundaries

GPA Classifications

• First Class Honours: GPA 4.5+ (5.0 scale) or 3.6+ (4.0 scale)
• Second Class Honours (Upper): GPA 3.5-4.49 (5.0) or 3.0-3.59 (4.0)
• Second Class Honours (Lower): GPA 3.0-3.49 (5.0) or 2.5-2.99 (4.0)
• Third Class Honours: GPA 2.0-2.99 (5.0) or 2.0-2.49 (4.0)
